One of Meludia’s greatest champions is found in an unexpected place, nestled deep in the Drakensberg mountain range, in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa… It is the amazing Drakensberg Boys Choir!
That champion is the world-renowned Drakensberg Boys Choir and they have been using Meludia with great success for some time now.
After working closely with the choir’s artistic director, Bernard Krüger, Meludia and the Drakensberg Boys Choir have entered into an agreement and they are now an official Meludia Artist Ambassador.
This amazing choir was recently on tour in the Netherlands where the Meludia Team got the chance to catch up with them. At the same time, the team had the opportunity to hear the “Drakkies” – as they are fondly known – in concert, and it was unforgettable.
The Drakensberg Boys Choir, the only choir school in Africa, aims “to prepare the boys in its care for life and leadership through a love of music.” The choir has visited 48 countries around the globe and have performed for the Pope and Nelson Mandela, among others.
This partnership reinforces Meludia’s expansion in Africa, where it already has a large user base. To support and develop this, Meludia is currently translating its platform into many African languages (including widely spoken tribal languages):
- Northern Sotho
This approach fulfils Meludia’s mission to bring music literacy to all people in the world, no matter how isolated or remote they may be. Meludia believes in acting local and thinking global!
